❌ Cons

• No Shinkansen access at all — not even to nearby Shin-Kobe
• No limited express trains (Haruka, Thunderbird, etc.) — local and rapid trains only
• JR only — private railways like Hankyu, Kintetsu, Nankai, and Keihan are not covered
• Some routes are faster via private railways (e.g., Kintetsu to Nara is 10-15 min quicker than JR)
• Consecutive days only — cannot skip days
• No first class or Green Car option
• If only taking 1-2 short rides per day, ICOCA pay-as-you-go may be cheaper
• Within Osaka city, subway is more convenient — JR station coverage is less dense
